Whatever this cheese stuff was, it was very good. Tam really did improve her cooking a lot. Ever since I could remember, she was coming up with bizarre ways of making things cook faster: putting toasters in ovens, tin foil in the microwave, turning ovens on as high as they'll go for little things like chicken nuggets. I think once she set something on fire to make it cook faster... or maybe that was me, I couldn't remember.
Anyway, I was getting bored waiting since Tam didn't want the walking catastrophe-to-be to be up and about. I was sure I had gone through at least half of the bowl when I heard Adam's voice getting louder with an absurdly loud "TAMARA" tagged on at the end. Instant fear struck my very core -- not really, but it's fun to say. I quickly shoved the two bowls away from me and crossed one arm on the table and rested the other elbow on the surface, resting my chin in my hand, looking as casually as I could. I doubted Tam would have liked it if she had seen me already horking down stuff as if I've never seen food before. I heard Amber's voice off in the foyer, which brought a smile to my face. I didn't think she'd have time to make it here with all the plans she makes with her friends and stuff. I wanted to go out and see her but it'd be like walking through a mine field with my eyesight, so I just stayed where I was, doing nothing in particular.
