Sam leant back against his usual tree on the quad, the usual sketchbook sitting in his lap and pencil poised over the clean sheet. He'd had to get away, see, sharing a dorm with his brother may have seemed the most obvious and sensible idea but he was pretty sure it was slowly driving him insane. They didn't share a room at home and when he thought about it, that was probably why they got on; the personal space.
In fact Sam was even beginning to worry for his health, not only did Clem have absolutely no idea what personal hygiene was or entailed (Sam'd recently found a pizza box that was about 3 months old. Clem's friend dared Clem to eat the last slice. Clem had.), he didn't bother washing clothes (his bloody kit bag regularly stank out the room) and it was hard to really start on the whole scope of his random partying, manwhorishness and staggering in at 2 in the morning with some equally drunk girl...at that level of intoxication it was a wonder to Sam that Clem ever managed to get anything done. Either way, he was looking forward to going home, even if that included a whole terms worth of frantic nagging and worrying from his mother. If the kit bag was going to be washed, Sam would be happy.
He breathed a sigh, feeling the cool air nip at his nose, a slight breeze tossling his dark hair. It really was good to be out of there.

set fire to the rain Alexiana was to teach a freshman class at Richmond High for experience. It was required in her course as an English major to log twenty hours of teaching which wouldn't be that hard considering classes usually ran for about an hour. However, when she arrived at the school, the front office ladies had explained to her she was a whole hour early and she would have to wait to teach. So there was Lexi, wearing a pencil skirt and a jewel colored blouse and black high heels, strutting across the high school.
Some random jock whistled at her as she walked through the Quad and all she could do was roll her eyes. Even though she didn't like to fight, she was still the daughter of Athena and she could have easily taken him down even if he was bigger than her. Lexi caught a familiar face leaning against a tree. Though Sam and Clem were part of the same family, they were the complete opposites. Lexi smiled and approached Sam, hand on her hip. "Hey there stranger. What are you drawing up this time?" Lexi smiled sweetly, happy that she wouldn't have to spend an hour at the high school warding off hormonal teenagers.

Sam looked up as he heard a familiar voice, looking a little surprised as he recognised Alex, one of the friends of the family. He'd known her since he was about 7 or something like that, she'd baby sat him and Clem too at some point.
"What are you doing here?" He said in surprise, setting down his sketchbook and patting the ground next to him as a gesture for her to sit down.
"I hadn't really decided yet, just the quad really, I just thought it'd do me to get away from my dorm, Clem and Seth put together; it'd be enough to drive even the most dedicated saint to the bottle," He chuckled. "How are you?"

set fire to the rain Lexi knelt down next to Sam trying to get a glimpse at what he was drawing before he closed his sketch book. Sam was a good, no, a great artist. Ever since Lexi had babysat him and his brother Clem, Sam was always drawing up pictures that were way beyond his years. She was glad that he was still drawing today.
"Well, you'll have to let me see it when you're done, okay?" Alexiana smiled sweetly as she took in the Quad. It really was a beautiful campus. "I'm good. A little frustrated that my teaching gig just got pushed back for at least an hour. Luckily I found you sitting here." She watched as teenagers laughed, talked, flirted, and studied. Well, not so much of the latter. If she was going to be a teacher some day, she would have to get used to this environment.

"Hmm...I'll think about it," Sam teased, giving his usual small lop sided smirk.
"You're temping? But an hour's good, guessing you're taking the English class," He said. "Which means you're in luck, my next class is English, I know, I know, you must be so excited," He said with a wink.
"How's your course going though? Mum keeps moaning that you never come round by the way...if I were you I'd stay away, she's gone through an even worse stage than usual of force feeding people, what with Christmas and all...don't get how she really has the time to be honest...what between that bloody show, trying to control Clem, smothering Zac, trying to do 'something' about my sister and nagging my dad...and Uncle Sage," He snorted.

set fire to the rain Lexi pretended to glare at Sam, but it turned out to be a half glare half smirk look. She could never really be angry at Sam, not really. Plus, she'd get a glimpse at his artwork if it was the last thing she did. She was stubborn in that way.
"Oh, the gods love me after all!" The daughter of Athena placed a hand over her heart then laughed. "Actually, I am grateful your next class is English. I can't stand most the kids around here so I'm glad I know someone. They're all so rude and immature and trying to seriously get with me, and not in the way your brother tries to get with me. I know he's just joking." While, she was 98% sure that Clem's flirting was harmless and that's just how their relationship was, she didn't want to think that someone she used to babysit was actually trying to sleep with her, considering his known as a man whore of sorts.
"Believe it or not, I miss your mother dearly! I think I'll visit today after school if you don't mind walking me? My car is in the shop." She thought about how she had found her car totally ruined in the parking lot in the hands of an Ares kid and she was furious, practically ran him over. Now her car sat in the shop waiting to be fixed. "Though, I don't think I could eat any more." Lexi giggled and placed her hand over her stomach to signal that she was full, when, in all reality, she only had a small yogurt parfait for breakfast that morning.

Sam laughed.
"Oh, poor me, guys are trying to get with me," He teased in a high pitched girly voice, pretending to give a hair flick before laughing again.
"And I wouldn't be too sure about Clem love, give him half a chance and he'd get with anything...then again you're pretty much family by now and even he's not into incest," Sam said.
"You have to be kidding me, no one in their right mind misses my mums nagging...I do miss her food though...and her cleaning my stuff...and more importantly Clem's...but sure, what happened to your car?" He frowned. He couldn't help vaguely wonder when she said was full, he didn't really think she'd ever been full in her life. Obviously he knew about the rehab thing and he'd been a little cautious ever since.

set fire to the rain Lexi made a fake face of shock. She pouted but couldn't hold it for long before it turned to a smile. She then punched Sam's arm lightly as if she was angry. Of course, she was much stronger, but she never really used her full strength. Even if Sam wasn't the son of Ares or Athena, it didn't mean he couldn't fight. "You're mean!" However, she laughed.
"Eek. I hope he wouldn't. I couldn't even think of being with someone who is a half sibling or with any of you George's. Not that you're not attractive." She smiled sweetly.
"Well, at least she cares. And her food is quite yummy." Lexi thought back to her own step-mother who was wicked and evil. She never cared not in a day in her life. Her nagging was more of a verbal abuse if anything. Tam, on the other hand, well, she nagged out of care and that would have been enough for Alexiana. "Some asshole had the nerve to completely destroy it." She rolled her eyes. Sam and Clem and everyone in the George family that was old enough to remember were some of the only people who knew about her, eating disorder, that she had gone to rehab for it. It always made her uncomfortable that they knew something, so vulnerable to her.

"From the depths of my heart, I sincerely apologise," He teased, eyes twinkling slightly as his lips pulled up into the usual lop sided grin.
"If Clem was interested in you I think you'd have to do a little more than just hope," He chuckled. "And thanks, I think I'm pretty attractive too and as you well know from all those boys hitting on you all the time, you're pretty attractive too. Even if you are a little on the old side," He said, adding the last part as innocently as possible despite the grin tugging at his lips.
"'Caring' being a gross understatement, if she cared any more we'd all be dead from her overcaring, me and Clem have a bet Dad's either gonna die from heart attack from all the stuff she feeds him or from exhaustion because...actually no, I don't really wanna think about my parents having sex..." He said wrinkling his nose before rubbing his temples, bleh.
"Destroy your car?! What? What the hell for?"

set fire to the rain "Mhm..that's what I thought." She giggled knowing that he was only teasing her, but he was never really mean to her. Sam was Lexi's good friend and she enjoyed having him around.
"Old?!" Lexi gasped. She then titled her head up high in pride. "I'm just mature. And you're attractive for a little kid." While now Alexiana viewed Sam as an equal, she always rubbed in the fact that she was his baby sitter whenever the opportunity arrived.
While Lexi absolutely loved Tam, even if she did nag, she did not want to think of her having sex. That was just unfamiliar territory to her and while she was the adventurous type, it was a place she never dared to tread. "Ick, thanks for the mental image."
Lexi let out a huff of air. "Some douche Ares kid who decided to smash in my driver's door and windows. I almost ran him over though so that helped with my anger, but now it's just sitting in the shop."

"Mature? That's what they say about cheese when it's gone all mouldy and stuff," He snickered, grinning outwardly now. "Don't be jealous of my youth love, you were never that much older than me and we both know I'm at least double most people's mental age...that's not fair...I'm comparing myself to Clem..." He laughed.
"I suggest we just get right off the idea of my parents, it's enough to put anyone off...onto the Ares kid...don't worry love, the way I see it, if Ares' kids aren't running around marking their territory and trying to scare people all the time, they just fall apart...and there are better way to deal with it than trying to run them over, you could end up locked away and come out like even more like a bit of mouldy cheese," He teased.
