ROLEPLAYING HELP While this site is open to members of all levels of writing, some people would like to know how to become a better roleplayer. This thread is a sort of tutorial where members may ask questions about roleplaying and get a response from the staff and other members as well. Everyone should take a look at this thread because roleplaying with someone who is a decent writer is always more fun than with someone who doesn't use spell check.
SOME TIPS
-Use spell check! If your web browser doesn't already, use the spell check button before you post a reply. It's really simple and saves your roleplaying partner the headache of figuring out what you're trying to say.
-Use correct grammar. While I'm not grammar Nazi, we should all know the difference between: their: showing possession of a group of people. Ex: Their shoes are in the other room. there: location. Ex: I left my shoes over there. they're: a contraction for they are. Ex: They're are excited to buy new shoes. your: showing possession of a person you are addressing. Ex: Your shoes are untied. you're: a contraction for you are. Ex: You're going to buy shoes with us. than: used for comparison. Ex: I rather swim than walk. then: next or showing time. Ex: Then, I shopped for a dress. or I didn't know what to do then. it's: the contraction for it is. Ex: It's time to shop for a dress. its: showing possession of an item or something that is gender-less. Ex: Its gems are falling off. Also, try to avoid using double negatives such as: He don't got no money.
-Reread your posts! I always try to reread my posts because I know I make a lot of mistakes when I type up a post. It also helps bring attention to a sentence that may not make sense.
