Lily exited the school building, having finished her afternoon tutoring session. She was eager to get the park, and do some more work on the short story she was writing for class. Dumping her books in the backseat of her volkswagon beetle, she hopped in the driver's seat, and started the car.
She started backing up, careful to go around the pothole that was near the parking spot. Orange cones were set up around it to warn people. But as she carefully backed out, a red convertible whipped around the corner, forcing her to slam on the brakes. The car slowed, seeing her, but as it was, she went right into the pothole.
"Great, just great!" She snapped, hopping out, seeing it was two boys, one who looked like he was highschool, the other university.
"There's a speed limit for a reason idiots! Look what you made me do!"
"What we made you do? You're supposed to stop when a car's coming!" One of the guys said.
"You were flying around the corner! How was I supposed to stop?"
The boy just shrugged, got back behind the wheel, and drove off.
"Hey, get back here!" She yelled, but the car disappeared around a turn.
Rolling her eyes, she glanced at her. Her beautiful, silver, volkswagon beetle was pretty much totaled. The back fender was bent and crushed, and the right back tire had sunken into the pothole, and was bent, practically under the car.
"Stupid teenagers." She muttered, pulling out her phone to call a tow truck. But her phone was dead.
"Perfect." She said, rolling her eyes. She ran up the school, only to find the doors locked, nearly all the teachers having left.
"Now this tops everything!" She snapped at no one. "Looks like I get to walk to find the nearest gas station, and try and call a tow truck." Sighing, she locked her car, and started to leave the parking lot.
