"There." Benjamin smiled in satisfaction as he admired his work. The dorm room was finally clean and looked like something from a magazine. While Ben loved everything to be exactly in their place, he had let the room become slightly messy since the start of his summer classes at the University of Richmond. He told himself he would make sure to pick up his dirty clothes from the floor whenever he got the chance, but a small pile had formed in the corner of the dorm room that drove him absolutely bonkers.
Well, he had finally cleaned the room. Today, he was expecting a new roommate. Yes, he enjoyed having the dorm room to himself, but what was college life without having a roommate that you could eventually call your best friend, or enemy? All Benjamin wanted was someone that wouldn't be crazy and kill him in his sleep. He also hoped that his new roommate wasn't too loud or some crazy womanizer that would be bringing girls by every night. That would definitely make studying difficult.

Everything about Collin just screamed first year. He was a mess, running from place to place with one of those little illegible maps trying to figure out which way was up. Growing up Collin had never really gone beyond the local town except maybe on special occasions to visit relatives and the like. It was a very small place, with a small population, where everyone knew everyone else and everything was right next to each other. You'd have to be blind to get lost. Now though he was in s university, in a city, and he couldn't be more lost.
Nervous as hell and jittery he knocked on various doors in various dorms trying to find which one was his. It wasn't that Collin had a bad sense of direction, it was just a lot to take in, in a very short space of time, and everything was still spinning. He'd half given up on trying to figure things out and was almost just guessing which way he was going by the time he found Ben's door.
He looked at the number on the door carefully, and he was fairly certain this was the right building so....Yes! He finally found the right room. Now finding his way out of here and to his classes would be another thing but hey, it was something right? Opening the door with his foot and elbow to stop himself dropping the few things he'd actually brought with him from home he stumbled into the dorm looking around as if he'd never seen a room before with a big excited grin on his face. Schools his expression though glancing at Ben.
"Hey! Um, this is the East um...wing? Room 100? right?" Did they even call them wings? Or was it just the east building. He wasn't sure, he might as well have 'newbie' tattooed on his forehead. Still though, this better be the room after him just totally barging in. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

The door to the dorm room opened and in stumbled a guy that appeared to be slightly younger than Ben. His arms were full and he seemed a bit flustered, but Benjamin couldn't help but notice that the guy was really attractive. Ben mentally kicked himself. Those kind of thoughts always scared him. He couldn't help it though. He would meet a guy at a party that had an awesome personality and he couldn't help but feel the strong urge to get to know the guy more, but he always tried to ignore those feelings. Now, he would do the same for his new roommate. He didn't want to make things awkward.
Benjamin walked up to the guy and grabbed some items from his arms. "Here. Let me help you. Oh, and we just call it the east building." Ben chuckled slightly and placed the new kid's items on the bed. "Okay, well, this is your bed. The room is big enough for a third person, but right now it's just you and me. Oh, duh, I'm Benjamin by the way but you can call me Ben if you want." He smiled sweetly, admiring the boy's features.

"You don't um..." Stops as the other takes a few of his things and grins at Ben "Thanks!" It was good to put the box down, he'd been dropped off by his mother at the wrong building and ended up lugging around the box for the past half hour until he'd finally found the place. Stretching his arm which had gone dead from the effort he looked around the small room trying to figure out where to put his things. There wasn't much in the box mind you, the bag he had thrown over his shoulder on the other hand was weighing him down, filled near bursting point with books. Just three changes of clothes, a laptop, an American football, and the school letterman he just didn't have the heart to leave home. Okay so he may not have graduated on a sports scholarship but to look at his bags one would probably think he had, and there was a time when Collin had toyed with the idea of attempting to aim for professional football.
The room was clean, much cleaner then he was used to, he'd have to continually remind himself to keep it that way, being a little too used to having his mother pick things up after him. It was nice but he couldn't help being a little irked at the blandness of it. Back home his walls were covered in pictures of various things, mostly football related, with maybe one or two naked women. None of which he was willing to bring with him to college, he had no idea who his roommate would be or what they would think of him lining the walls with such things, besides, he could only get away with it at home because no one went in there.
As a roommate the worst thing Collin might do is get caught playing bad music. He was a bit of a fan of his techno and rap music, or maybe cheering too loud if there was a game on. Killing people in their sleep wasn't something Collin planned on doing, as for womanising, Collin would consider himself very lucky if he ever managed to bring back one girl.
"Um yeah, sorry I'm like...kinda new. I just spent the last like...whatever, running around the North wi- building trying to find this place." He rubbed the back of his neck while he spoke, and kept having to remind himself not to chew on his lip, nervous habits he could never quite kick, poker was not something he'd ever excel with. Nods as the other gives a quick description of the place, and can't help grinning, rocking on the balls of his feet a little, he was a college student in a real dorm. All he needed now was to find a sports team or the like and he'd be set.
"Cool! And ah, I'm Collin." Removes his hand from the back of his neck long enough to try and shake Ben's hand • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Benjamin extended his arm and firmly shook Collin's hand. He couldn't stop smiling if he tried. The twenty year old was finally happy that he had a roommate. Ever since he attended the University of Richmond at the age of eighteen, he had a whole dorm room to himself. Many of his friends envied him and it did give him the liberty to let anyone spend the night, but it got lonely. There were so many stories that his friends had about their roommates, good and bad, but they were memories. Benjamin had memories of studying until two in the morning and that was about it.
"Well, welcome, Collin. Don't worry. The campus gets a lot easier to figure out after the first week. I can show you to your classes if you would like. I'm a pre-med major so most of my classes are in one area of the campus so I might not know where all your classes are, but I could help." Ben pretty much lived in the medical building. All the professors knew him by name and it was really like a second home to him. "What are you majoring in by the way?"
Benjamin walked over to his desk and closed his med books. He could study later. Typically, he always put studying first. However, it was summer and he had a new roommate. That was excuse enough to take a break. He walked back over to his own bed and sat down. "Please, make yourself at home. I swear I won't bite your head off. Unless, you steal my shit." Ben chuckled slightly and watched Collin, analyzing.
