She sat on the bench watching the playground with hawk-like mother's eyes. Kael was climbing up the climber for the children his size and going down the small slide. He was a very independent child when it came to the playground. He looked over at Shiloh from the top of the stairs and waved his little palm at her. He smiled a wide grin and giggled and then went down the slide again. As he went down he squealed with enjoyment and chuckled when he slid off the slide and onto his butt. He pushed himself up and ran over to her side. Mama..side! Mama! Come side peez! He pointed at the slide and looked up at her with pleading eyes. She stood and growled as she scooped him up and walked towards the slide with him. He burst into uncontrollable laughter as he clung to her and squealed. She climbed up to the slide with him and looked at him as she sat him down and said Ready? she nodded and they slid down together. He squealed as they went down and he clung to her. Shiloh loved the park almost as much as Kael did. Go ahead and go down by yourself now okay Bubba? Mommy will be on the bench. She helped him to his feet as he laughed and walked over to the stairs and go down again.
She went and sat down and watched her son play. She was thankful for this time with him. She hadn't had enough time with her beloved son lately. Ever since that experience with the drunk man on the pier, she hadn't had much time to spend with him. She had since heard from Benjamin a few times. Well. She'd heard he was trying to find her. He wanted to apologize. She didn't want any of it. She didn't have any interest in talking to a man like him. Hopefully of all the places he could be he didn't choose the park to be one of them today.
