J. T. R. CAPONE HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME SEMP AND I'M CURRENTLY THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OLD. I'M PART OF THE DEMIGOD (Demeter) AND I'M AN EQUINE RESCUER & FARMER. ------------------------------------------------- Being the son of Demeter, Semper always took a strong liking to rural areas, farmland, and the wilderness. He prefers to stay in these types of areas, but living in Richmond doesn't really provide for that, so he settles with what he can, using his power of allowing crops to grow to help get a steady income. His love of horses turned into starting up an equine rescue, which he runs religiously. Aside from working, even after nearly two decades of trying to quit, Semper still is fighting alcoholism. He certainly doesn't drink as much as he used to, but just being around the liquid is enough to make him nervous and start shaking. Semper is also much slower than he used to be, his only good eye quickly deteriorating. He can still somewhat see his way around, but in dim lighting he's pretty much completely blind. When Demeter presented Mr. Al Capone with a little baby boy, the Cherokee man was homeless and living out in the woods, having left the reservation for unknown reasons. Having nearly nothing to raise the kid, Mr. Capone did everything he could to make sure his son survived the first year, and the next year, and the next, and so on. It was quickly discovered that whenever his little boy, whom he named Semper, placed a seed of any sort into the ground, within seconds a plant would sprout up, sprouting to life as though spring had come in fast forward. The relief that struck Mr. Capone was unimaginable: they wouldn't need to worry about where their next meal was coming from. They could grow it themselves and save up the money they gathered from odd jobs and whatnot. When Semper was around seven years old, his father had managed to find an old barn that no one was using, so he quickly turned it into the best house he could for himself and his son. Despite not having indoor plumbing, heating, or cooling, the duo found the rickety barn to be a blessing. Semper really did enjoy living so close to nature even though other kids at school made fun of him for being homeless and then for living in a barn. But he didn't mind. He loved it. His father also set up a slaughter house business, and everything he did was humane. Semper was always there to play with the animals that nearby farmers brought to the barn to be slaughtered, trying to make their last moments enjoyable. It didn't quite go over well when he once tried to tell some of the workers that harassing the animals wasn't allowed; they pinned him down and used an red-hot iron brander and burned a cross onto the right side of his chest, hence his fear of hot iron. Anyway, in the summer before his freshman year at high school, Semper's dad sent him off to Richmond High School, all the way in California, so that he could be with other demigods and learn to better his powers. Since then, he's found the love of his life code word: -edited out by admin- |
